Enlarged Prostate (BPH)

The prostate, of a chestnut form, is a sexual gland of the male reproductive system. Surrounding the urethra, it is located below the bladder and in front of the rectum. One of its roles is to secrete and store the seminal fluid, the sperm. From birth to adult age, the prostate volume increases; it can weigh up to 20 g. T he growth becomes a problem when it affects the physiological functions of the prostate gland. One of the common ailments of the prostate is BPH or enlarged prostate.

Also known as benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) or benign enlargement of the prostate (BEP) , Enlarged prostate is the fact that the prostate gland has grown bigger , primarily thetissues surrounding the urethra . This disorder compresses the urethra and puts pressure on the bladder, which impedes urination and causes frequent need to urinate.
